Another Facebook Virus!

I have already received five different messages in my inbox today from Facebook contacts prompting me to open a link with the following message:

“I see you in this video. When was it?” Text varies in each message. Do not click on the link! If you really want to be sure the message wasn’t sent from your friend, ask your friend first before doing anything. You have been warned.

Such social hacks are beginning to be a regular occurrence on Facebook and they definitely take away from the user experience to say the least.  How will Facebook respond this time?

Here’s a screenshot of one such message:

אני קיבלתי גם, בלי סוף. פשוט נוראי, כתבתי לפייסבוק שני מיילים בתקווה שהם יסדרו את הבאג

    ולרגע חשבתי שאנשים התחרפנו
  • I'm just deleting offenders now - no waiting no questions.

I opened one yesterday and although I managed to get rid of it before it did too much damage, I have had my account deleted. I have e-mailed Facebook but apart from sending an automated reply nothing has happened.
  • Facebook should really be handling these matters in a more efficient manner......I am now afraid to click on any links in messages sent to me.......
